Dear Players and Parents
The Simsbury Babe Ruth summer program begins in early June immediately following our spring season. The summer season consists of two programs, Babe Ruth All-stars and Northwest Babe Ruth. The All-stars compete in the Jaycee Courant/TD Banknorth League comprised of teams throughout the Hartford Metro area. A 13, 14 and 15 year old team will represent Simsbury in competition. In addition, these teams will represent Simsbury in Babe Ruth All-star competition in July. Players will participate up to 5 days per week from June through early August.
The Northwest Babe Ruth participates in a league with towns from Farmington to Torrington or largely along the Route 44 corridor and is for ages 13-15. The schedule runs from early June until late July and players can expect to participate up to 3 days per week. The number of teams will be determined by interest.
Tryouts will be conducted for player wishing to participate in the Babe Ruth All-stars on April 13, 20 & 27 and are mandatory for selection. You do not need to tryout if you wish to participate in the Northwest Babe Ruth. Time and location of tryouts will be posted soon.
Players currently participating in the Simsbury High School or Founders League Prep School Division cannot participate in tryouts because of scholastic rules. You will receive information on team selection in mid to late May.
